Welcome...to the MADHOUSE!!
Rounding off the 2006 updates are some more illustrations done for Turner Classic Movies, TCM Underground website. Next up is MADHOUSE on Dec. 29th at 2am— great Vincent Price fun in the vein of Dr. Phibes and Theatre of Blood. You can also see the previous weeks intro movie with artwork I did for Francis Ford Coppola's early film, DEMENTIA 13. Both sets of drawings are also viewable in the illustration section of the TCM website site.

And that's that for this years updates— please check back in January for a sneak peek at the upcoming projects of 2007!

Living Dead Doll Art Show
Mezco Toys asked me to participate in this years Living Dead Doll Art Show running from October 31st to November 14th at New York's designer toy gallery "The Showroom NYC". Over 100 artists were asked to design and interpret their own Living Dead Doll and I was happy to be among them. No images allowed until the show is underway, so if you're in New York stop by the gallery or check back to my site in November for some pictures of a cobbled together monstrosity
I call..."Tesla! The Babysitter of Tomorrow!"

  ...CALLING DICK TRACY!
This month is the 75th anniversary of Chester Gould's square-jawed, fedora wearing crime stopper, Dick Tracy! When I worked on The Nevermen for Dark Horse comics, Dick Tracy and his villains were a big inspiration — so in honor of his anniversary, I've added some new drawings to the illustration section. More additions to my take on his infamous Rogues Gallery with Mrs. Pruneface, B-B Eyes, Shakey, Itchy Oliver, Steve the Tramp and Shoulders.

  OVERHAUL!
It’s been a while since I added art to the Illustration and Comicwork areas of the website— so through the hard work of webmaster Nate Pride, there is now a major redesign to both sections. You’ll find many new examples of past and current artwork, including covers, sequentials, pinups, sketches and model sheets. Please check out the new areas and I promise to try and have them updated a little more regularly from now on!

20 Years Ago Today! (Well, actually a couple months ago)
In 1986 my first professional comic work saw print on a small press fantasy series called The Realm for Arrow Comics. Now it’s 20 years (and a lot of deadlines later) and I’m happy (and damn lucky) that through feast and famine, I’ve been able to keep going and make a career out of it all. So forgive this 20th anniversary, self-congratulatory pat on the back— at least until I hit another 20!

PANGO!
Beware the overtly phallic ray of Dr. Pango!!
I just did a pinup for my friend (and writer of The Zombies That Ate the World) Jerry Frissen’s new Lucha Libre tome through Les Humanoïdes Associés. Here’s a sneak peek of it in b/w and you can jump over to Jerry Frissen’s Muttpop blog to see his wonderful coloring job along with the incredible artwork to the series by Bill and Gobi!

  The Amazing Screw-On Head on
the Sci-Fi Channel

Mike Mignola's incredible Amazing Screw-On Head comic (winner of the Eisner award for Best Humor Comic) has been adapted into an animated pilot for the Sci-Fi Channel and will air on Thursday, July 27 at 10:30/9:30C. I was asked to do some design work on the show for various props including the "Hookah" and "Burly-Crab" suit for the climatic battle! Right now you can watch it online at scifi.com and also take a survey to let them know what you think of it.

  TECHNOFEAR!
Well, nothing that dramatic really— but I've had a few people tell me my e-mails haven't been getting through, either ending up in their spam folders or lost in electronic limbo. I make it a point to answer every e-mail I get, and while I'm not online all the time I usually respond in a couple days— so if you don't hear back from me, check those spam folders or give me a shout.
MOTOR CITY COMIC CON
May 19-21, Novi Michigan

It's that time of the year again— the big three day MOTOR CITY COMIC CONVENTION in Novi, Michigan! B.P.R.D. eComic!
Over at the Dark Horse Comics website is a new monthly feature showing the making of a comic from concept to completion. This month features some pages to B.P.R.D.: The Universal Machine #2, showing the stages from Mike Mignola's and John Arcudi's script to my scribbles and pencils all the way to the finished lettered and Dave Stewart colored page. Check it out and see what a sloppy penciler I am!!

Guy Davis Artworks 2006
Happy New Year to all! With the future world of 2006 underway it’s time for a little revamping of the website. There will be numerous changes in the next month or so as the site is reworked, so please check back for new updates and galleries in every section.

The Zombies That Ate The World—Tome 3
Just released in time for the 2006
Angoulême Festival is the third French volume of The Zombies That Ate the World from
Les Humanoïdes Associés. “Popypop ne Repond Plus” finds Karl and Freddy (the Belgian Bomber!) on a mission of love to recover the zombie body of Popypop with the two-fisted aid of Belgian royalty! The third tome of “Les Zombies qui ont mangé le monde” is 48 pages of heart-warming violence written by Jerry Frissen and illustrated by myself with Charlie Kirchoff on colors.

B.P.R.D. "The Universal Machine"
This month the last issue of B.P.R.D.: The Black Flame wraps up and I’m already hard at work on the next story line, B.P.R.D.: The Universal Machine for April 2006 release. To the left is one of Mike’s incredible covers to the series and a sneak peek of the first interior page to issue #1 on the right. Picking up where the last series left off, Kate Corrigan travels to rural France in search of an ancient text while back at B.P.R.D. HQ, Captain Daimio finally reveals the truth about his own death.

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, with co-writer John Arcudi and myself on art, launch the five-part series that will determine the future of the B.P.R.D. while revealing key secrets about their past.
