A FLASH OF SOME ROBOT DICK!
Artwork On Numb3rs Television Episode

Some artwork I did for the upcoming Chamber 6 online comic "Buddy Manchat/ Robot Dick" made it's way into the "Graphic" episode of the CBS show Numb3rs. A closeup of the cover to Robot Dick that I drew and Dave Stewart colored is used during a scene change near the end of the show that centers around a murder and theft of a rare comicbook at a convention. You can watch the show for free online at the link above, it's at the beginning of the fourth segment— but don't blink or you might miss it!

  TIS THE SEASON FOR TCJ!
Holiday Gift Guide In Comics Journal #287

I was asked to be part of the Comics Journal's "Comics for the Holidays" — a list of different artist suggestions for comic-related gifts to give loved ones in honor of Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or the Winter Solstice or just plain atheistic commercialism. My recommendations can be read online at the Comics Journal website — and of course copies of B.P.R.D., The Marquis and Sketch Macabre make perfect stocking stuffers too!!

  AN EXHIBITION OF UNSPEAKABLE THINGS
Works inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's Commonplace Book at Maison d'Ailleurs gallery October 28th 2007 to April 6th 2008
I was invited to contribute artwork for the Lovecraft Commonplace Book exhibit at the Maison d'Ailleurs gallery in Yverdon-Les-Bains, Switzerland.

H.P. Lovecraft's Commonplace Book is a compilation of 222 short notes and ideas recorded between 1919 and 1934 in a notebook that Lovecraft planned to revisit when developing later works of fiction. The reader encounters nameless abominations, giant underwater cities, ancient artifacts awakening forbidden memories, dreams fading into reality, new dimensions appearing at the corner of the eye, and creatures from another time hidden in human guise.

Following an invitation from Maison d'Ailleurs to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Lovecraft's death in an exhibition, one hundred artists have used this journal to explore the abysmal depths evoked by this singular author, transforming the museum into a place filled with things better left unspoken.

I contributed a trio of digitally rendered drawings that will be on display along with works by H.R. Giger, Rick Sardinha, Paul Carrick, Jeff Remmer, and many others. The exhibit runs from Oct. 28th to April 6th, after which I'll put the images up in the illustration section of this site.

THE TRUE HISTORY OF LOBSTER JOHNSON!
Backup feature in Lobster Johnson: The Iron Prometheus #2

In the current issue of Lobster Johnson I provided artwork for a one-page extra in the back detailing the true history of the mysterious character that was Lobster Johnson, written by Mike Mignola.

But before you get to that, there's 24 pages of pulp goodness by Mike and artist Jason Armstrong as The Lobster and Jim delve deeper into the sinister forces behind Professor Gallaragas's mysterious disappearance and discover a conspiracy wilder than they could possibly have imagined. With Nazis, Tibetan cultists, and a prophesy whose fulfillment could mean the end of the world...

Guillermo Del Toro's incredible Oscar winning film,
Pan's Labyrinth has been released on DVD this month. Set in 1944 fascist Spain, a girl fascinated with fairy-tales is sent to live with her new stepfather, a ruthless captain of the Spanish army. During the night, she meets an old faun in the center of the labyrinth who tells her she's a princess, but must prove her royalty by surviving three gruesome tasks. If she fails she will never see her real father, the king, again. It's an absolutely beautiful film and story all around!

For the 2-Disc edition I was asked to be part of the animated DVD comics along with Jason Shawn Alexander and Michael Kaluta. These tell a bit of pre-story to scenes in the film and I provided the artwork for "The Giant Toad" and "The Fairies" DVD comics along with some fairy tale illustrations for "The Power of Myth" featurette.
